Merritt Athletic Clubs, an industry and community leader in health and fitness, today announced the grand opening of a new family-friendly Super Club in White Marsh, located at 5301 Campbell Blvd.

The new multi-million dollar gym has been accepting memberships over the last several months and will open to the public on April 28, 2014. A VIP party for local executives and businesses will follow on May 8th. On May 10th, Merritt Athletic White Marsh will host an all-day Community Carnival, with a ribbon cutting at noon with Baltimore County Sixth District Councilwoman Cathy Bevins.

"We are very excited about this new facility," said Terry Dezzutti, COO of Merritt Athletic Clubs. "This is a true lifestyle center. Our aim was to design a space where our members would not only have the tools to succeed on their fitness journey but also a place for rest, relaxation and recreation. We wanted to create a destination and an experience. After all, our purpose is to be the best part of our member's day, so we created something for the youngest all the way up to the young at heart. There is truly something for everyone."

Top-of-the-Line Experience

The new facility will include a state-of-the-art outdoor aquatic center with three pools: Olympic size, a family fun pool and a kiddie pool. It will also feature saunas, fitness studios for yoga, cycle and group fitness, a cardio movie theatre, and a Maria Ds restaurant, which will offer healthy alternatives such as wraps and salads.

The sprawling, 45,000 square-foot club will also feature the latest cardio equipment and a range of popular fitness classes, such as Yoga, Barre, Body Pump, and Cycle, all included with a new membership.

Grand Opening Celebration

The May 10 celebration will include entertainment for families including live clowns, moon bounces, face painters, stilt walkers, jugglers and a hammer strength contest for kids.

Local restaurants will provide free food, and throughout the day, Merritt will feature fitness demonstrations for all ages. Local Deejays from radio station Mix 106.5 will join from 11-1 p.m. with their cash cube. Not to be outdone, the event will also include a special appearance by a surprise Baltimore Raven.

"This gym was built from the ground up with families in mind," added Dezzutti. "We welcome everyone from the community to join us and celebrate fitness."
