6 Nailcare Promotions to Offer This Summer

Encourage clients to up their nail game this summer with desirable seasonal promotions, which are sure to increase foot traffic in your spa or salon.

• Offer a Booking Discount: “If your Shellac manicure is $45, create a promotion that if a client adds $10 or more nail art, they get $5 off the manicure,” says Tamara Di Lullo, educator at CND.

• Encourage Safe Socializing: “Offer ‘Return to Social’ packages that incorporate luxurious nail, hand, and foot treatments for a group,” says Vivian B. Valenty, Ph.D., founder and president of VB Cosmetics and Dazzle Dry.

• Reward Loyal Clients: “Issue a spa summer loyalty card to track each visit and provide the client a reward to claim during subsequent visits,” says Valenty.

• Create Theme-Based Services: “Because of the pandemic, many people have not traveled. When they visit the spa or salon, it’s the perfect time to offer an opportunity for them to escape,” says Sigourney Nunuez, education manager at OPI. “Create a theme-based service that is inspired by a tropical location and offer them an in-spa or in-salon getaway. Add some essential oils, scented lotions, and vibrant shades to set the tone.”

• Suggest Nail Art: “Spas can promote various nail art created by their nail artists to attract clients,” says Brittney Boyce, a consulting nail artist for Orly. “A lot of my hand nail art clients miss the pampering of going to nail salons, particularly getting their feet taken care of. I think combining a luxurious pedicure with fun nail art will increase business.”

• Offer Add-On Products or Services: “Include a nail polish for clients to take home with every manicure or pedicure service,” says Shel Pink, founder of SpaRitual. “Or offer a hand facial as an add-on service to a manicure.”
