New Mexico’s Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa Celebrates 145 Years

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa, in the high desert of New Mexico, is celebrating its 145th anniversary. To mark the special occasion, the property, located just north of Santa Fe, is launching a package inspired by the four elements: water, earth, air and fire.  he promotion includes overnight accommodations in a Plaza, Pueblo or Cliffside suite; plus a soak in Ojo’s sacred mineral waters; two Earth Keeper’s Hot Stone Massages; two Ojo Signature Milagro Wraps;  two passes to a yoga class of the guest’s choice, and New Mexico chocolate chile truffles.

“As stewards of Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs it is a true privilege to celebrate our 145th anniversary by honoring the rich history of this legendary oasis that has provided healing for diverse groups of people for thousands of years,” say Andy Scott, Ojo’s owner and general manager.

Ojo was founded in 1868 by Antonio Joseph, New Mexico’s First Territorial Representative to Congress, as one of the first natural health resorts in the United State and rapidly gained a reputation as a sanitarium, known for the curative properties of its healing mineral waters.

The resort is also undergoing improvements, including an expanded Men’s Changing area, and the launch of a new Mud area and Lithia pool. Ojo has also established secluded Whisper Zones for those looking for tranquility within the resort.
