GlobalFit, a provider of employee and group fitness benefits, was named a 50th Anniversary Partner by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Through the partnership, the two organizations will jointly promote physical activity, fitness and sports throughout 2006.

Iron Grip Barbell Co. completed the third phase of its multi-year expansion plan, which now totals more than 43,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse and office space in Santa Ana, CA. The new facility, designed by Iron Grip, features more than $1.5 million in manufacturing equipment and includes an array of highly automated equipment designed to improve quality, speed products to market and reduce reliance on outside suppliers.

Star Trac introduced the Instinct line of commercial selectorized strength machines. The 28-piece line consists of 10 single function and nine dual function stations along with 12 benches and racks that can be used in any combination. Each piece has the family- look popularized by Star Trac’s Pro Series cardio equipment.

Mark Urlage has joined Expresso Fitness, a supplier of interactive software for Internet-enabled cardio fitness systems, as vice president of sales. Urlage comes to Expresso from Nautilus Inc., where he served most recently as vice president of commercial sales
