Career Contessa’s Lauren McGoodwin to Lead a Career Workshop at WIW West Coast

Navigating a successful career path in today’s constantly evolving workplace poses numerous challenges. Wanting to help women find the path that’s right for them is what spurred Lauren McGoodwin to create Career Contessa, a career site built exclusively for women to help them cultivate successful and rewarding careers through expert advice, videos, one-on-one mentoring, online skills-based courses and resources, and a curated job board. She will be sharing valuable career insights and advice at American Spa’s West Coast Women in Wellness Leadership Conference at The Waterfront Beach Resort Hotel, A Hilton Hotel (Huntington Beach, CA). In a workshop titled, “Three Ways to Leverage Your Strengths at Work,” McGoodwin will reveal how to determine your greatest assets and use them to your advantage to advance your career or grow your business.

As founder and CEO of Career Contessa, McGoodwin launched the website in 2013 after experiencing a gap in career development resources for women who might be job searching, leading and managing, or trying to find new ways to advance within their careers. According to her, with women accounting for more than 50 percent of the workforce and the workforce being less defined than ever before, it seemed crazy and outdated that a resource for women didn’t exist.

Prior to creating Career Contessa, McGoodwin served as a university recruiter for Hulu focused on hiring, employer branding, and program management. She has a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Oregon and a master’s degree in communication management from the University of Southern California, where she wrote her thesis on millennials and career resources.
