Celebrate National Margarita Day with This Healthy Wheatgrass Margarita from Grand Velas Los Cabos

Grand Velas Los Cabos (Mexico) recently launched a new welcome amenity for its Wellness Suites: a Wheatgrass Margarita Kit. What sets this margarita apart from the typical margarita, though, is the health benefits that come from the wheatgrass.

Not only is it high in nutrients, but wheatgrass is full of vitamins, including A, C, and E. Along with that, it has iron, magnesium, calcium, amino acids, and has also been known to lower cholesterol.

In honor of National Margarita Day on February 22, the resort shared its healthy margarita recipe for guests to make at home. Take a look below for the instructions:

  • 1 Wheatgrass shot (a teaspoon of wheatgrass powder diluted in 2 oz of water)
  • 1 ½ oz Don Julio blanco or other white tequila
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz Lemon juice
  • ½ oz Agave honey


  • Combine all ingredients in a shaker.
  • Shake and pour over ice.

Grand Velas Los Cabos's Wellness Suites offer an array of fitness and wellness amenities, such as a Muse brain sensing meditation headband and an in-suite exercise kit to allow guests to workout in the privacy of their room, comprised of a yoga mat, dumbbells, resistance bands, and an exercise bike.
