Conair Announces Death of Co-Founder Leandro Rizzuto

Conair Corporation has announced the passing of co-founder and chairman of the board, Leandro P. Rizzuto. In a statement, the brand said Rizzuto peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 3, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our leader," says Ronald T. Diamond, president of Conair Corporation. “Mr. Rizzuto was a man who loved life and people and deeply loved our company. He was our leader, mentor and teacher, encouraging those around him to always strive to do more than we thought we could do, and be greater than we thought we could be.”

The company plans on honoring Rizzuto by continuing to develop new products that utilize emerging technology to improve the everyday lives and business of Conair’s consumer and professional users across the globe. Rizzuto founded Conair with his parents in 1959, and over the last 58 has grown his family business into a multinational corporation, marketed in over 125 countries, including brands such as BaByliss, Cuisinart, Waring, and more.

The family will announce arrangements as they are made. While it is expected that Rizzuto’s funeral will be private, memorial masses will be held for Conair’s thousands of employees worldwide to celebrate the life of the Conair co-founder.
