Dermalogica hosted three simultaneous events in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago recently to honor professional skincare therapists at PST Appreciation Brunches. More than 200 Dermalogica-expert skincare therapists attended the events, in New York City at the Dermalogica Learning Loft, in Los Angeles at the Dermalogica headquarters, and in Chicago at the International Dermal Institute.
In Los Angeles, the brand's founder Jane Wurwand welcomed guests before introducing Angela Murphy, vice president of technology and development for the brand, and Jennifer Ahartz, global curriculum developer, who acted as emcee throughout the day’s events. In Chicago, Belth Bialko, associate director of global curriculum at the international Dermal Institute, headlined the event. Bailko shared the big news regarding the launch of Dermalogica’s new podcast, Living Skin by Dermalogica, which went live on Google Play Music and iTunes that day. In New York, senior director of U.S. education Heather Hickman headlined the event.
Guests of the events were treated to a delicious brunch of healthy cuisine and mocktails, as well as a number of fun activities. Attendees were asked to write down a goal for 2018 and add it to an intention wall, which in the end was a completed mosaic of intentions for the coming year. There were Give, Get, Glow stations to enjoy as well. At Give, guests created Dermalogica-branded terrariums they could take home with them; at Get they could receive a chair massage; and at Glow they could get 10-minute FaceFits, which offered guests the opportunity to have their skin analyzed by a Dermalogica skincare expert and receive a quick and complimentary treatment. American Spa’s own associate editor Samantha went to the New York event and got a FaceFit, where she truly bonded with her esthetician Kayla and fell in love with Dermalogica’s Hydrablur primer and pre-cleanse balm.
What was most exciting about the events though was the opportunity for guests to test out the brands top-secret upcoming launches, slated for release in February 2018. Stay tuned to American Spa for the latest once the products drop.
