Dermalogica Partners with United Nations Foundation to Celebrate International Women’s Day


In the spirit of National Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day on March 8, Dermalogica and their philanthropic organization FITE (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship) have set a new fundraising goal to help economically empower 50,000 women worldwide. This announcement comes with the launch of an entrepreneurship partnership with the United Nations Foundation (UNF), where Jane Wurwand, visionary philanthropist and cofounder of Dermalogica and The International Dermal Institute (IDI), accepted a leadership role as special advisor to UNF’s Global Entrepreneurs Council, supporting their work with the United Nations to advance women and girls. In celebration of International Women’s Day, the FITE team will be participating in national panels and a weeklong series of events and celebrations with partners UNF, ongoing non-profit partner Kiva, Dell, and DWEN (Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network) at South by South West (SXSW). The events will culminate in San Francisco, where Wurwand will join Kathy Calvin, president and CEO of the United Nations Foundation and Musimbi Kanyoro, president and CEO of the Global Fund for Women in discussion with Norway’s first Woman Prime Minister, Gro Harlem Brundtland, M.D., on the global economic state of women.
