More than 800 skincare professionals from around the world gathered to participate in Dermalogica’s two-day ‘Futurescape’ Symposium, which took place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles earlier this month. The speakers for this event included a number of well-renowned industry professionals, including Jane Wurwand, the brand’s co-founder, co-owner, and guiding visionary; Diana Howard, Ph.D., vice president of research and development and global education; and Annet King, director of global education, who addressed every aspect of business building. Other industry experts presented strategies for capturing and retaining market dominance, with an emphasis on the power of new media, as well as traditional marketing. "In business, we talk about ROC—Return on Community—as being the most essential element of success,” says Wurwand. “This sense of community—we call it our ‘Tribe’—is what has defined the Dermalogica culture for more than 25 years.
