Inika Organic Brings Clean and Bold Cosmetics to NYFW

Inika Organic returned for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) this week, showcasing its 100 percent natural beauty brand on the runways of both Jonathan Cohen and Chocheng.

As the only 100 percent natural beauty brand invited to NYFW after sparking interest from last season’s success, Inika Organic chose designers who share the same values of cruelty-free and sustainable fashion. Both shows were completely free of fur and feathers and the Chocheng show was 100 percent natural.

Two contrasting and unique looks were curated for each designer. The first was for prominent designer Jonathan Cohen, who is known for designing pieces inspired by Mexico, a touch of modern-day Manhattan, and the easygoing vibe of California. Brand new limited-edition colors were created specifically for the Jonathan Cohen Runway, which featured equally bright patterns to match the vibrant makeup artistry, brought to life by makeup artist Yuki Hayashi. With Inika’s 100 percent natural eye colors, bases, brows, lashes, and lips, the resulting looks produced a bold and dynamic show.

The second show, for womenswear designer Chocheng, combined Inika Organic’s natural pink and peach tones with Chocheng’s 60’s chic theme. Inspired by 1960 mystery thrillers Plein Soleil and Midnight Lace, Chocheng reimagined the retro wardrobe and modernized it for the women of today. Using neutrals, pink tones, candy stripes, monochrome, and coral red worn with wood-framed sunglasses, straw bags, and platform espadrilles, a fresh and feminine feeling was brought to the runway. Makeup artist Campbell Ritchie, inspired by Jackie O vacationing in Saint-Tropez, used natural and elegant tones of pink from the Inika Organic collection to complete the looks.

With the culmination of these two contrasting and stunning shows, Inika Organic completed another successful season at NYFW. As a number one certified organic makeup brand, the cruelty-free company continues to defy the status quo, producing natural make-up that will not comprise performance or fashion. By teaming up with high-profile designers like Jonathan Cohen and Chocheng, the brand reinforces the idea that 100 percent natural beauty is both feasible and fashionable.
