Mandarin Oriental Opens in Beijing

Opening in the heart of China’s capital with striking views of The Forbidden City, Mandarin Oriental Wangfunjing (Beijing, China) is home to The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Wangfunjing, which features four themed treatment suites, one of which is a couples’ suite; a Tea Lounge; five Sommerhuber ergonomic heated lounge chairs; a sauna; and a steam room.

An adjoining fitness center offers state-of-the-art equipment and a 25-meter indoor lap pool with a sky roof. The spa’s signature treatment is the Emperor’s Longevity ($334, 2 hours), which is inspired by the hotels setting in the middle of Beijing. It incorporates jade, quartz sand, and ancient meridian-locating techniques to enhance relaxation.

“We are delighted to bring Mandarin Oriental’s legendary hospitality to Beijing and look forward to welcoming guests to the beautiful environs of Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing,” says general manager Mark S. Bradford. “Our proximity to the sights and sounds of historical Beijing, and our desire to provide personalized service that comes from the heart, inspires all of us every day to deliver our very best,” he added.
