e second evening of the Summit was the invitation-only Gala Dinner, attended by about 200 of the Chinese spa industry’s movers and shakers. The dinner was sponsored by Kohler, who had 3 of their beautiful tubs on display in the lobby, filled with water and graced with beautiful models, fully clothed! Sponsors Moet and Saratoga Spring water ensured that plenty of both were poured throughout the evening. Table seating was assigned upon check-in, facilitating more new friendships. During the delicious meal, we were treated to a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, after which the awards got under way. Each award winner received a lovely Ming vase and a large glass certificate stand, presented by white-gloved attendants. At the conclusion of the meal and awards, attendees were treated to a fruit dessert served in miniature cast-iron tubs, courtesy of Kohler, and then each attendee was given a box with which to transport the tub. Certainly the heaviest party favor I’ve ever gotten, and one of the most original!
