OPI Releases New Major League Baseball-Inspired Nail Lacquers

MLB Collection by OPIOPI announced the launch of seven new limited-edition nail lacquers inspired by Major League Baseball (MLB), marking the first-ever professional sports league licensing agreement for the company. Launching in April, the collection features a range of blue, orange, red, and white hues, and each bottle includes the ProWide Brush for easy color application. “Enjoying a baseball game is one of America’s most celebrated pastimes,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI cofounder and executive vice president. “For many years, men dominated the stands, but today, more and more women can be found in the crowds. Baseball boasts a lot of female fans looking to demonstrate their love of the game through fashion—from trendy, feminine sports apparel to themed accessories. Now, women can wear the limited-edition MLB Collection nail lacquers to show support from head (and fingers) to toe.” The collection includes Short–STOP!, a creme red; Love Athletes in Cleats, a shimmery red; Orange You Going to the Game?, a bright and playful orange; Right Off the Bat, a frosty navy blue; 7th Inning Strrretch, a steely grey blue; Umpires Come Out at Night, a deep midnight blue; and Girls Love Diamonds, a pure white. “Major League Baseball understands the importance of female fans in the growth and success of our sport, and so we continuously seek new opportunities to diversify our portfolio of licensed offerings to target this extensive fan base,” says Howard Smith, senior vice president of licensing, Major League Baseball. “We are beyond thrilled to partner with OPI, a premium brand in a unique category of business, to launch this new line of exclusive nail polish, giving fans yet another colorful way to show off their team pride at the start of the 2014 baseball season.”
