The Targeted Learning Track You Can't Miss at IECSC NY

While many business professionals head to trade shows to network and connect with other industry professionals, they are doing themselves a disservice if they don't attend the classes being offered. This year at IECSC New York, not only will attendees have access to over 275 exhibitors, but access to Cidesco workshops, advanced business seminars, makeup workshops, product focused education, and more as well. An exciting addition to the show for 2018 are six new targeted learning track options, which allow guests access to four exclusive classes plus three-day admission to the show. Hopping onto the sustainability and wellness trend that is ever-growing in the spa industry, one of the most anticipated targeted learning tracks this year is Organic and Green Living, which offers four classes on being eco-friendly, vegan beauty, sustainability, and more.

Available to guests attending the show on Sunday, March 4, the Organic and Green Living targeted learning track offers the following four classes:

  1. Inspire Your Clients with Engaging Eco-Lifestyle Initiatives (10:00-11:15 am): Hosted by Shelley Lotz, principal at Vios Spa Group and Green Spa Network board member, this class focuses on encouraging clients to incorporate spas into their regular wellness routines. Discover the ways to communicate your unique story and connect the value of your sustainable initiatives to your clients’ lifestyle. Learn easy-to-implement actions that support your client’s eco-lifestyle and the trends driving them to your doors.

  2. Sustainability and Spa Outlook Panel Discussion (11:30 am-12:45 pm): As sustainability becomes more mainstream, discover how spas are successfully tapping into the trend. Our panel of organic experts will discuss their thoughts on ingredients, legislation, spa best practices and more. Speakers include Rona Berg, editor-in-chief of Organic Spa magazine and American Spa's Women in Wellness Awards judge; Jillian Wright, founder of Jillian Wright Skincare and co-founder of Indie Beauty Media Group; Shelley Lotz, principal at Vios Spa Group and Green Spa Network board member; and American Spa's very own Julie Keller Callaghan, editor-in-chief and publisher of American Spa magazine.

  3. Let's Do It Together: Turning Passion Into Action (2:00-3:00 pm): Featuring Tara Grodjesk, president of Tara Spa Therapy and emeritus founder of Green Spa Network, this class is designed to help you implement the changes you know will bring your success to the next level, even if the rest of your team seems resistant. Grodjesk introduces a powerful alignment process to connect you to your values and goals, gain buy-in from your team, align around the same vision and collaborate to bring it to life.

  4. Vegan Beauty Panel Discussion (3:30-4:45 pm): Moderated Rona Berg, this panel is a master class on vegan beauty. As more beauty consumers embrace plant-based diets or scale back on eating meat, they also want to be aware of hidden animal-derived ingredients in their skin, hair, makeup, and body care products—especially where they may least expect to find them. Dive deep into how you or your clients can start going vegan with Berg; Karim Orange, makeup artist and personal care expert at That Orange Girl; and Lisa Sykes, copy editor of Universal Companies.

In addition to Organic and Green Living, the other targeted learning tracks at IECSC NY will be esthetics treatments and ingredients, product focused education, health and wellness, medical spa, and social media and marketing.
