Technogym, a leading company supplying products, services, and solutions in wellness and fitness, has signed a supplier contract to be the official fitness equipment supplier for all athletic preparation centers for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the first Olympics to take place in South America. ‘Technogym is proud to have been chosen for the sixth time as the official supplier of the Olympic games,” says founder and president Nerio Alessandri. “This important achievement represents a victory for the Technogym team and a strong reference on our products innovation and quality standards. Rio 2016 will also represent a unique social opportunity to promote wellness in Brazil and throughout Latin America.” 2016 marks the sixth Olympic experience for Technogym after Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Turin 2006, Beijing 2008, and London 2012. The company is expected to supply 1.000 pieces of equipment featuring mywellness cloud digital platform, which allows athletes to connect to their training programs directly on the equipment or from their mobile devices. Additionally, Technogym will provide a team of 50 professional athletic trainers to support the athletes. “The needs of athletes are always at the forefront of our thinking, and ensuring we have top-of-the-range equipment available for their use is vital,” says Carlos Nuzman, president of Rio 2016 Organizing Committee. “We are going to work together over the next two years.”
