How many years have you been involved in the spa and hospitality industry?

15 years.

What was the path that led you into the spa industry?

I was a fitness trainer at a spa in a hotel.

What are the most challenging and rewarding parts of being in the spa industry?

Creating teams of employees who understand and promote the importance of wellness.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Receiving recognition award for best of the year from Leading Spas of the World.

What has surprised you most about working in the spa industry?

How fast it grows each year… people are aware of the importance of wellness.

Where do you think the industry is heading? 

With new generations of young people, we need to find new ways to approach them—we are in a digital era.

What’s your favorite skincare ingredient?

Anything that exfoliates and hydrates the skin.

What positions have you worked in that you feel have been most influential to your career?

Being at the spa front desk and being able to have indirect contact with your clients helps you understand their needs.

If you could work in any other profession in the world, what would you be?

A fitness instructor.

How would you sum up your personal philosophy?

Take time to be kind.

How do you like to spend your time away from work?

With my family.

What are your three greatest priorities in life?

Family, health, and work. 

What’s the best advice you’ve received? 

Be fair to people, and life will be fair to you.
