London 11 June 2023 - Built for Athletes, the UK-based premium fitness brand that specialises in high-quality bags, luggage and accessories for athletes of all sports, has today announced the appointment of industry veteran Matt Brewster to its Board of Directors. Brewster is the current CEO of global expert training retailer WIT Fitness and brings over 15 years of experience in developing and executing strategy for Speedo as the former Chief Operating Officer, then at Arcadia Group as Global Commercial Director spearheading digital strategy and the launch of Ivy Park, and additionally former Chief Commercial Officer at AWWG.Â
Following Built for Athletes' 7-figure fundraise in 2022 from growth equity investors, River Capital, the brand has executed several high-profile brand partnerships including becoming the official luggage partner of Oracle Red Bull Formula 1 Racing, a mainstay of the functional fitness, HYROX and CrossFit communities with a growing roster of athletes including Nick Matthews (14th Fittest Man on Earth 2022), Aimee Cringle (Professional CrossFit athlete), and Hunter McIntyre (HYROX World Champion 2023). Targeting aggressive growth in 2023, the addition of Brewster will help guide strategic direction via his extensive experience in e-commerce, brand development, product development and international expansion.
