“Breaking Bad” Inspires Blue Bath Salts, Blue Friday

Talk about a spa high! Great Face & Body (Albuquerque, NM) will be celebrating Blue Friday on Nov. 23 with the launch of its Bathing Bad products, an organic bath salt and body scrub line inspired by the hit AMC drama. The products are tinted with a natural blue dye that matches character Walter White’s blue-colored meth made popular on the series, which is filmed and set in Albuquerque. The “Blue Friday” celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for walk-in orders bought directly from the cooks. A special party with a blue theme will take place that evening from 7 to 10 with blue-themed food and drinks. Products can also be ordered online at www.BathingBad.com.

“We love the show, and we have a few of the actors as skincare clients. Since we just bought an old 9,000-square-foot building, we decided we needed to ‘break bad’ so we could afford the renovations,” says creator Keith West-Harrison, “We thought selling bath salts was better than meth since I’m not a chemist and we’d prefer no jail time.”

The two store owners, Keith and André West-Harrison, have been friends with the one of the show’s stars, Giancarlo Esposito, since he came to the first Albuquerque Film Festival. “We are sad the show is filming its last season, but we know it will have great appeal for years to come,” says Andre.
