DIY Mask Uses Tomatoes to Shrink Pores & Remove Black Heads

While spa-goers can reap the benefits of tomatoes at the spa, tomatoes can also be added to at-home skincare concoctions. “Applying tomato to the skin has been shown to offer firming, toning, and skin-tightening benefits, along with a gorgeous, natural glow,” says Szep Elet’s Szilvia Hickman. Encourage clients to create their own at-home products by leaving them with this delicious-sounding skincare recipe by Kym Douglas, beauty expert, and co-author of The Beauty Cookbook, which is ideal for acne- and rosacea-prone clients, because it helps to shrink pores, remove blackheads, balance oiliness, and brighten the skin. 

Kym’s Lemato Mask

  • Mash or puree 2 tomatoes 
  • Mix with 2 tbsps of lemon juice
  • Apply to face for 15 minutes
  • Remove the mask
