3 Tips for Building a Strong Online Presence

E'toshia McFarland, a buzzworthy influencer, licensed esthetician, award-winning educator, and owner of Faces By Etosh (Columbia, SC), offers her expert tips for leveraging social media and SEO to grow your spa business.

Are you ready to embark on an electrifying digital journey that will take your spa business to the next level? If you're an esthetician or a business owner in the spa industry, I want to help you increase your online presence that will leave your customers yearning for more treatments at your spa. In today’s social world, it’s important to be the expert and influencer to connect with your ideal client. As the licensed expert, your clients are yearning for educational tips and content to help them achieve their skincare goals. In my experience, leveraging your ability to influence your ideal clients with the use of social platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram increases your chances of brand visibility, new leads, and an increase in clientele. Let’s look at my three tips to leveraging social media and SEO to build a strong online presence.

1. Spa-tacular Social Media Strategies

Social media is your golden ticket to connect with your audience on a personal level. Leverage your social media! Identify who your ideal client is and how you can find them socially. Is your client male or female? What does your client like to do (shop, exercise, travel, foodie etc.)> When you dive into truly understanding who your ideal client is, you know and understand how to locate them and most importantly how to talk to them and story tell through video, pictures, and captivating captions with clear call to actions. Once you have completed this step, choose your social platforms that work best for you. Not all social media platforms are created equal. Start by creating profiles on the platforms that align best with your spa's aesthetic.

2. Spa-ify Your Content

Show off your spa's ambience, treatments, and happy customers with eye-catching photos and videos. Share before-and-after shots of satisfied clients, introduce your talented team of estheticians, and provide sneak peeks into your spa's behind-the-scenes magic. Showcasing a day in the life as a spa owner in the form of a video vlog is a great way for your audience to connect with you. At the end of the day, remember EVERYTHING is content! Lastly, remember to engage, engage, engage. Social media is a two-way street. Respond to comments, ask questions, and encourage user-generated content by running contests or challenges. The more you engage with your audience, the more they'll feel connected to your spa.

3. SEO: The Secret Sauce for Spa Success

Now that you've conquered social media, it's time to delve into the enchanting world of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). SEO is like the elixir of online visibility for spa professionals and business owners alike. If you're a local spa, optimizing for local SEO is essential. Research and identify relevant keywords related to spa services and your local area and incorporate these keywords into your website's content. Register your spa on Google My Business, Yelp, and other local directories. Ensure your contact information, business hours, and customer reviews are up to date. This will help your spa appear in local searches. From personal experience, I get most of my new clients from Google. Remember to ask your clients to leave you a five-star review and a few words about their experience with you. This is important and helps leverage your business for new clients looking to visit your spa.

In conclusion, building a strong online presence for your spa business is an exhilarating journey that requires a mix of social media finesse, SEO wizardry, and collaboration magic.
