Questex’s International Esthetics, Cosmetics, & Spa Conference (IECSC New York) took place at the Javits Convention Center from March 23-25, 2025, debuting an unprecedented lineup of new exhibitors, immersive experiences, and exclusive professionals-only pricing on must-have beauty and spa products and services. The event also offered more than 40 specialized classes covering emerging trends in skincare, wellness, and business development.
There was so much great information that was discussed during the education sessions at the show, including these words of wisdom from some of the educators:
Nichelle Foster Mosley "Barrier-Boosting Treatments for Melanin-Rich Skin":
"My career has been about one thing and that's fortifying the front lines, not just in skincare, but in how we care for ourselves, our clients, and our communities. When we understand and are able to protect and nourish our barriers, both physically and emotionally, we all can thrive."

Courtney Sykes "Med Spa Modalities, Laser Physics, and Advanced Care Plans":
"Grade 1 and 2 acne are more open and closed comedones and pustules; grade 3 is all of the above plus redness, which is where the bacteria comes in; grade 4 is all of the above plus cysts."

Kimberly Morfin "Brow Perfection: Learn the Latest Innovations in Tinting & Lamination":
"For brows, make sure the tail does not go below the baseline of the brow. The head falls on the baseline. The arch is the highest point of the brow."
Nene Taylor "Securing Six Figures as an Acne Assassin":
"Think about your clients when purchasing products to test. Align this with what you want to achieve on your clients. Get behind the product lines that you believe in and trust. Retail, retail, retail. Retail is mandatory. It is not about telling clients what to use, but it is recommending products to make sure they get the results they want. Product lines can help you. They might be able to sponsor some giveaways and do demonstrations."
"Mindset is everything. Believe in yourself even when no one else does."
Savanna Boda "Creating Compliant Clients with Savanna Boda":
"It all starts with the consultation. Get to know the nitty gritty of your clients--the names of their pets, what they do for a living, are they traveling, Establishing a good relationship with clients is how you build client loyalty."

Suzanne Holbrook "Brave Leadership: Creating a Culture of Engagement & Integrity":
"Understand your market and practice menu engineering. Look at the high profit and high demand services, and get rid of everything else."
Julie Grosso "Ads that Convert: Maximize Client Growth With Any Budget":
"To go viral on social media, post every day nonstop. When it is good and worth it, there might be enough eyes on it. Show up on many platforms because you don't know how people will receive the information. Posting in the morning is best, but it is better to post than not post, even if it isn't the morning or the best time. Keep showing up. Don't worry about the date and time Every day is the best time."

Dr. Whitney Bowe "Optimize Client Outcomes Through Science-Backed Skincare Protocols":
"Skin cycling became a global phenomenon, but there is no one-size-fits-all skincare routine."
