YTL Hotels recently debuted the Floating Spa at Monkey Island Estate, which is set on a picturesque island in the River Thames (Bray, UK). Created by the wellness experts at Spa Village, the Floating Spa is located on a bespoke crafted barge and features three treatment rooms, a bright wheelhouse reception area, and an Elixir Bar. Monkey Island dates back 800 years when it was founded by monks. As a result, all the treatments and experiences of the spa are choreographed to fit the setting and concept.
The signature treatment is The Monks Elixir-Botany and Beauty, which begins with an elixir tasting of one of the monk-brewed ancient herbal tonics followed by a full-body massage with house-cured oil and essential oils, and an application of herbal packs to relieve stiffness and improve mobility. The spa has partnered with British spa brand Moss of the Isles to create treatments that involve nature’s most potent and nourishing elements to create formulas that transform, heal, and rejuvenate the skin and Isun. The Experimental Teahouse will grow medicinal plants and herbs that will be used at the onboard Elixir Bar.
