Hike and Sing with Adler Spa Resort Thermae's New Retreat

One-of-a-kind offerings can take a spa experience to the next level, and nowhere is that more evident than at Adler Spa Resort Thermae (Bagno Vignoni, Italy), which is welcoming music lovers in September for a three-day excursion called Hike & Sing (starting at $1,050). In addition to accommodations at Adler Thermae and walks in the glorious countryside, the program also includes group singing lessons in historic churches.

Taught by maestro Livio Picotti, a world-renowned pianist, singer, and choral instructor, the lessons focus on Gregorian chant, an a cappella style of sung prayer usually performed in Latin. The Hike & Sing itinerary involves singing lessons in the Santa Caterina Chapel, which overlooks the historic spa bath in Bagno Vignoni, and the Abbey of Sant’ Antimo, a travertine monastery still home to Benedictine monks. The walks visit the hilltop village of San Quirico d’Orcia and the picturesque medieval hill town of Montalcino, famous for its Brunello di Montalcino wines.

A melodic spin on traditional forest bathing, this package is music to many spa-goers’ ears.
