New Nevada Spa Sets Size Records

Part of a $100-million master renovation plan at The Row, which encompasses three resort-casino properties in the Reno and Lake Tahoe area, is The Spa at Silver Legacy. It is the largest treatment facility in northern Nevada, and it is being helmed by industry veteran George Powell-Lopez, who is serving as director of spa and wellness at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino. Designed in collaboration with Resources for Leisure Assets, USA and MBA Architecture + Interior Design, the 21,000-square-foot, window-filled retreat includes three couples’ treatment rooms, four individual treatment rooms, five facial treatment rooms, three relaxation lounges, a salt-inhalation chamber, two private hospitality suites, seven hydrotherapy soaking tubs, two steam rooms, and two saunas.

The alfresco natatorium, a rejuvenating swimming pool and focal point of the additional 8,000-square-foot deck area, includes a waterfall and a fire feature, coed hot soaking tubs, and shaded seating and sunbathing lounges intended for pre- and post-treatment relaxation. “Every finite detail of the spa—from the style and intimacy of our spa treatments to our custom-mixed scents and carefully selected color palettes—is designed with the intention to provide our guests with an unrivaled relaxation experience,” says Powell-Lopez. “It’s a metaphysical odyssey, allowing the conscious mind to recognize eminent beauty while the subconscious mind encounters a new level of repose and bliss.”
