Pelo West, a new spa in downtown Louisville, KY, recently opened on the 17th floor of the historic Galt House Hotel. The urban luxury spa is owned by Louisville native Kaitlyn Hubert, an established professional in the spa, skincare, and haircare industries. Pelo West is Hubert’s third spa and salon in Kentucky.
During the 2022 Kentucky-Derby season, Hubert and her team offered IV Hydration from a pop-up location inside the Galt House. After the successful experience, the hotel’s management approached her about opening a spa in the well-known Galt House, which she knew was an opportunity not to be missed. “The Galt House holds a special place in my heart," says Hubert. "Growing up in Louisville, my parents would take my siblings and me to the hotel to celebrate big occasions. I always thought it was so grand! Now, I bring my children and they love the charm as much as I do. It’s an honor to bring a fresh face to downtown as the city prepares to host Derby 150. We look forward to offering relaxing, unique experiences to visitors and locals through our professional treatments delivered by a talented, diverse team of therapists.”
Bathed in shades of green, black, and gold, the 3,000-square-foot spa has four treatment rooms (including one for couples), three hair stations, manicure and pedicure areas, and saunas in the women’s and men’s changing areas. Products from Eminence Organic Skin Care are used in facials, while haircare products include R+Co BLEU and two lines created by Hubert, Tomboy Hair Care and Urban Wild Hair.
