The balancing elements and healing power of the Hawaiian Islands’ natural resources are at the forefront of The Ritz-Carlton Spa at the newly opened The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach (HI). The contemporary 3,400-square-foot retreat is found on the residential resort’s eighth floor and features three treatment rooms, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a rainforest shower, a eucalyptus steam room, a dry cedar sauna, and a retail and reception area. Hawaiian Rainforest Naturals cofounder and Hawaiian cultural practitioner Melia Goodenow developed the spa menu and the signature treatments, all of which begin with the Henoheno Ritual. As part of it, guests are presented with a warm Hawaiian welcome before embarking on their journey with a footbath that features a light lomi lomi foot massage with exfoliation using yellow ginger flower essence. The spa also features a retail area outfitted with offerings from Coola, ESPA, Hawaiian Rainforest Naturals, Knesko, The Ritz-Carlton Spa Fresh, Yoga Balm, and more.
