A Spa Star is Reborn at The Hotel Crescent Court

It is said that everything is bigger in Texas. That is certainly true when it comes to the recent $30 million renovation of the Hotel Crescent Court (Dallas), part of which was a multi-million-dollar update of The Spa at Hotel Crescent Court. More than 20 years after the spa debuted, this luxe restoration certainly brings it to the cutting edge of wellness while keeping nature at its core. “The spa was redesigned as a modern haven of serenity, implementing biophilic design [which incorporates natural materials, natural light, vegetation, views of nature, and other experiences of the natural world] to improve guest wellness and satisfaction,” says Michelle Meredith, owner of Michelle Meredith + Associates, the Dallas-based interior design firm behind the renovation.

The concept of the redesign was one that connects spa-goers with nature, complete with a new color palette of muted blues, greys, lavenders, and creams accented with brass metal and white glossy fixtures. “The organic elements bring texture and warmth into the space, creating a juxtaposition against predominantly modern surfaces and bringing the outdoors in, providing the feeling of healing through natural elements,” says Meredith, who adds that many design elements are one-of-a-kind, such as floor-to-ceiling spiral roots made of natural vine wood used throughout the spa to add a textural sense of trees, wall tiles made of leaf-like patterns, and two custom bubbling fountains with crystal droplets in the spa lobby so employees and guests may enjoy the relaxing sounds of nature.

The spa now features 16 treatment rooms, women’s and men’s lounges, relaxation rooms, a couples’ suite, a whirlpool with a hot and cold dip, a dry sauna, an all-new nail salon with multiple manicure stations and pedicure thrones as well as an updated Spa Lounge. There, guests can enjoy customized salads, sandwiches, wraps, freshly squeezed organic juices, wine, and Champagne before or after services. Additional facilities include an enhanced retail space and a fully refurbished health and fitness center featuring new Technogym equipment, flooring, and lighting.

Refreshed relaxation areas for guests.

The spa menu has also been updated to accommodate the changing needs of guests. “When creating the menu, we incorporated a combination of classic treatments and traditional favorites as well as signature services and packages, so you’ll see a variety of massages, skincare, nailcare, beauty, and body treatments plus add-ons,” says spa director Branden Fein. A true standout for those who want total wellness immersion is the six-hour Texas Spa Day package ($645), which includes a 50-minute Ginger-Coconut Sugar Glow, a 50-minute Signature Massage, a 50-minute HydraFacial, an Anti Aging Manicure, an Uptown Luxury Pedicure, and lunch. “Basically, we combined our favorite treatments together to give you the package of your dreams,” he says.

Whether it’s a six-hour journey or an express nail service, the updated spa has something for everyone, including hotel guests, locals, and those who are part of the thriving spa membership program. Members can take advantage of a variety of perks, including access to the fitness center and classes, courtesy member events, preferred rates on spa services, complimentary three-hour valet and self-parking, special dining offers, and preferred room rates and upgrades at Hotel Crescent Court, depending on the membership. Between the members and other guests, the spa team of 50 is always hustling, typically providing around 85 services per day but maxing out at around 160 appointments on peak days.

Still, the team at this busy spa has no intention of simply counting on the buzz from the multi-million-dollar facelift to maintain its success. “We are always looking for ways to improve,” says Fein. “We plan to continue expanding the menu and including fresh, new spa treatments that, of course, can be tailored to guests’ needs.”
