The only thing better than a visit to a luxury spa is visiting one that exceeds all expectations, and no one knows that better than American Spa's own executive editor, Heather Mikesell. You might recall that she was recently in Bali, where she took us on a tour of The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Bali (see it here). On that same trip, she also got the opportunity to spend a few days at Mandapa, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud. While there, she was able to check out Mandapa Spa and experience a chakra-healing treatment with traditional Balinese healer Pak Dewa Made. In late November, Bali's Mount Agung volcano erupted on the northeast coast of Bali, temporarily closing the island's Ngurah Rai International Airport and displacing approximately 100,000 residents who live within a six-mile radius of the volcano's summit. We're happy to report that Mandapa Spa remains open and unharmed. Check out the spa with the video below.
