Specialty Fitness Systems, a leading fitness equipment manufacturer, launched PRIME, its new brand of strength training equipment, this week at the Club Industry Show in Chicago. PRIME is poised to be a serious player in the industry, boasting the innovative SmartCam™ technology, modern design and user-friendly operation. Melissa Griffin, CEO of Pennsylvania-based Specialty Fitness Systems (SFS) said “We are so excited to introduce PRIME to the market here at Club Industry.”

The company’s booth featured eight pieces of equipment, showcasing a sampling of their extensive portfolio of products from three lines of selectorized weight machines: Evolution, Hybrid and Legacy.  Evolution was the headliner, with five elements including an Arm Curl and Chest Press. Other machines included a selectorized Hybrid Arm Curl as well both a plate-loaded and selectorized Arm Curl from the Legacy line.

SFS President, Rod Griffin said, “PRIME is the product of our strong fitness equipment manufacturing experience and our commitment to innovation.” Since 2009, STRIVE equipment has been solely manufactured by Griffin’s company, and in early 2014, SFS acquired STRIVE’s popular cam technology and other assets. The SmartCam technology offers users a variety of resistance selections within each exercise motion. “The acquisition of STRIVE’s cam technology is really what propelled the development of PRIME,” said Griffin. “It provided us the opportunity to enhance the design and efficiency of the cam that ultimately became our SmartCam technology, featured on the Evolution machines you see today.”

With the launch of PRIME, the company’s CEO has a long-term vision for expansion. “PRIME is positioned for vast growth opportunity. Our partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers gives us invaluable real-time feedback and insight from professional athletes and strength coaches. That connection allows us to keep our finger on the pulse of trends and has already helped us develop new strength training equipment we plan to unveil at IHRSA in 2015.”
