A Look at Avocado-Based Treatments Offered at Spas Today

Discover some of the avocado-based treatments offered at spas today.

The Avocado Stone Facial ($75, 45 minutes) at The Retreat at Serendipity Province (Valparaiso, IN), utilizes heated stones to allow the skin to absorb the benefits of avocado. First, an avocado mask is applied and massaged into the skin with warm stones. Then, cool facial stones are used to seal in the rich moisturizer of the avocado. The facial also includes a rejuvenating lip treatment.

The Avocado and Silk Wrap ($135, 50 minutes) at Lavender Beauty Spa at Spa Castle Texas (Carrollton), works to moisturize the skin. The wrap optimizes levels of fat and moisture in the skin and smoothes dry and flaky patches. It also conditions the skin to feel soft and supple, reduces lines and wrinkles, and protects the skin from premature aging.

The Spa at Esperanza at Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection (Cabo San Lucas, Mexico) offers an Amanu Avocado Butter Pedicure ($400, 90 minutes), a collaboration with Amanu, a high-end custom sandal brand, where guests receive custom-built sandals at the end of the treatment. Clients can choose their design and materials before getting measured and fitted for their one-of-a-kind pair of sandals. The pedicure starts with a rejuvenating soak and exfoliation, followed by an application of rich avocado butter to hydrate and nourish the feet. Guests then try on their sandals for a final fitting and leave with their footwear and a beautiful polish.

At the Tenaya Stone Spa located in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (Anaheim, CA), guests can enjoy the Avocado, Lime & Honey Foot Treatment ($160, 50 minutes) or the Nourishing Avocado Body Treatment ($230, 80 minutes). The foot treatment includes a smoothing exfoliation, a hydrating avocado butter mask, and an application of an antioxidant oil, honey-based fruit serum, and skin-glistening agave nectar oil to finish. The body treatment includes dry brushing, a whipped shea sugar exfoliation, a nourishing mask, and a scalp, shoulder, and foot massage.

The Avocado Citrus Splash ($175, 50 minutes) body treatment offered at the The Spa at Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale (AZ) includes a body polish with grapefruit and jasmine-infused salt to revitalize the skin. Guests then enjoy a Vichy shower, followed by an application of warm avocado oil to soften and nourish the skin.
