Mother's Day Survey Reveals Spa Services on the Rise as Ideal Gift

If you haven't given any thought yet as to what to get your mom for Mother's Day then a recent survey might just give you some ideas. It may also inspire you to roll out a few Mother's Day specials. According to the annual Brand Keys Mother's Day Survey, total spending is estimated to reach nearly $17.2 billion. The New York City-based brand and customer loyalty research consultancy polled 5,000 men and women, ages 18-60, and asked them if and how they planned to celebrate Mother's Day. Twenty percent planned to gift their mothers with spa services. This was up 3 percent from last year. Here is what else they're buying:

Cards 97 percent

Flowers 73 percent

Brunch/Lunch/Dinner 60 percent

Gift Cards 58 percent

Clothing 42 percent

Jewelry 38 percent

Spa Services 20 percent

Books/E-Books 20 percent

Candy 5 percent

Electronics 10 percent
