Royal Javanese Treatment

Guests at the The Ritz-Carlton Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Villas & Spa (Manama, Bahrain) are treated like monarchs with the Royal Javanese Treatment ($485, 120 minutes), which emulates the prenuptial ceremonies of royal Indonesian brides. The session, which occurs in the picturesque outdoor treatment area, begins with a 60-minute Javanese massage to stimulate pressure points using E'spa massage oil. Next, exfoliating lulur paste, which is an intoxicating mixture of nutmeg, rice powder, sandalwood, and tumeric, is scrubbed on the guest's body to help renew skintone. Soothing yogurt is then massaged into the skin to rebalance its natural pH. Finally, the guest is immersed in a calming herbal bath scented with exotic flowers.
