Just in time for the holidays, Cal-a-Vie Health Spa (Vista, CA) has debuted Beautiful Living, which is part instructional cookbook and part lifestyle guide. This beautifully photographed coffee-table-style cookbook shares the techniques and flavors developed in the popular destination spa’s kitchen. In addition, it provides advice for living a healthy lifestyle that nourishes the mind, body, and spirit.

From Carrot Coconut Soup to Blueberry Lemon Muffins, chef Curtis Cooke shares more than 100 healthy recipes, each of which includes a complete nutritional breakdown of calories, carbohydrates, fat, sugar, and more from registered dietitian May Tom. The book also details the inspiring story of how owners Terri and John Havens transformed their California retreat into a leading destination spa.

“Our guests often refer to their time spent at Cal-a-Vie as life-altering,” says co-owner Terri Havens. “It’s a place to renew, relax, and energize your life. Beautiful Living provides practical and useful new cooking techniques to try at home, the guidance to create healthy and low-calorie meals for family and friends, and inspirational tips to make the most of every day for lifelong health and happiness.”
