How to Recreate Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos’s Oasis Spa Experience At Home

While travel is at a stand still, the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos (Mexico) is offering self-care tips to help with recreating the spa experience at home.

“When it is time to stay home, it is the perfect time to take care of ourselves,” says Lina Morales, spa director of Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos. “We can use self-care as a mode of transportation to our most beloved, calm and happy places.”

Here, Morales shares favorites that can be easily recreated using common household goods and pantry items.

Oatmeal and Honey Mask:

  • Mix a ¼ cup of coconut milk with 2 teaspoons of honey and 2 teaspoons of oatmeal. Apply to your face using round, upward movements. Keep the mask for 10-15 minutes and remove with warm water to reveal smooth and moisturized skin.

Rose Water Toner:

  • A rose water toner helps to balance sebum production and is suitable for all skin types. To make it at home, place rose petals from one rose in a teapot. Pour boiling water over the rose petals, cover teapot, and let the tea infuse and then cool for 1-2 hours. Strain the tea and use a spray bottle to apply at night after cleansing. This can be done by soaking a cotton pad in the rose water toner.

Honey and Coffee Body Scrub:

  • Begin by mixing ½ cup of honey, 4 teaspoons of coffee, and 2 teaspoons of brown sugar or sea salt together. Take a hot shower to moisten the skin and pores. Then, rub the scrub into your skin with a medium pressure using an upward, circular motion. This scrub can be used to exfoliate and rejuvenate the entire body.

Shower Mist:

  • A shower mist can be another way to improve self-care at home. An aromatherapy shower spray mixed with an oil blend helps to boost mood, decrease stress, and calm the respiratory system.

At home spa tips and routines can improve health and lifestyle during a time of social distancing. Instead of increasing anxiety or depression, staying home should be looked at as a time of self-care to improve happiness.
