Larry Bergstrom, M.D.
Dr. Bergstrom is board-certified in Internal Medicine and the director of the Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic. His main interest is in developing an Integrative Medicine Program for individuals with complex medical issues for whom conventional medical therapies have not been successful or satisfactory. He is involved in the scientific evaluation of Alternative and Complementary medical therapies at Mayo Clinic and with other academic medical centers.
Brent Bauer, M.D.
Dr. Bauer is board-certified in Internal Medicine, an Associate Professor of Medicine and has been on staff at Mayo Clinic for 17 years. His main research interest is the scientific evaluation of Complementary and Alternative Medicine therapies which are used by patients with increasing frequency. Dr. Bergstrom has authored several book chapters and papers on this topic, and is the Medical Editor of the Mayo Clinic Book of Alternative Medicine. He is a member of the NIH-NCCAM special emphasis review panel. Dr. Bauer is currently collaborating on more than 20 studies being conducted at Mayo Clinic to evaluate CAM therapies ranging from acupuncture to valerian.
