In response to COVID-19, GSN Planet recently launched a new webinar series called Community Support, designed to serve as a hub for spas, hotels, and other wellness business to share ideas and best practices on the recent effects of the Coronavirus outbreak. The series, which airs on Tuesdays at 12 PT/3 ET via Zoom, features wellness experts from within the community who share insight and answer questions from GSN Planet members and webinar attendees.
American Spa's editor-in-chief, Heather Mikesell, was honored to be selected as one of the panelists for the first webinar in the series, titled "Supporting Staff During COVID-19." Joined by Garrett Mersberger, chairman of the board for the International Spa Association (ISPA) and director of sales, marketing, and and spa for Blue Harbor Resort & Conference Center (Sheboygan, WI); Michael Tompkins, partner at Hutchinson Consulting and American Spa columnist; and Joanna Roche, executive director of GSN Planet; the webinar touched on a number of important topics including what kind of feedback has been coming from the industry, what steps to take to support the community and workforce, how to come together and craft a come back strategy, and more.
