The Medical Spa Trends to Watch in 2019

In 2018 millions of consumers researched a range of treatments on RealSelf.com. Now, RealSelf has compiled those searches to determine medical spa trends for 2019. These are the treatments that may be the most popular of 2019.

In 2018 three out of the top 10 minimally invasive treatments researched were injectables. Botox was the number one minimally invasive treatment searched, while Juvederm was number three and Restylane was number nine. This is the second year in a row that Botox topped the most researched treatment on the minimally invasive treatment list. However, other treatments are gaining momentum on the list, including microneedling, which jumped from slot 11 in 2017 to eight in 2018.

"While we continue to see high interest for surgical procedures, advancements in technology have expanded minimally invasive treatment options and helped to make aesthetics more accessible to women and men of all ages," said Lara  Devgan M.D. "The growth of minimally invasive procedures reflects the rising interest in treatment options that deliver results with little downtime, and the trends we've observed on RealSelf indicate this demand will continue to rise in 2019."

As for surgical treatments, breast alteration topped the list with breast augmentation, reduction, breast lift, and the mommy makeover all making the top 10 list. Tummy tuck, eyelid surgery, and rhinoplasty also were highly researched.

Other treatments that gathered a lot of attention from consumers included treatments to improve acne scars and factional laser treatments to help heal sun damage.

RealSelf also divided search results by gender, revealing that men searched for treatments that included rhinoplasty, hair transplant, and tummy tuck. Women searched most often for information on breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and Botox.

As for 2019, make sure your menu offers injectables and stay on top of the latest breast enhancement technology.
