Minerale Spa Offers Special Menu for Cancer Patients

Helping spa-goers suffering from cancer, Minerale Spa at Lansdowne Resort and Spa, A Destination Hotel (Leesburg, VA) recently debuted a new oncology program. Spa therapists there are now trained in proper massage techniques by Healwell, a non-profit specializing in providing hands-on therapy for those affected by the disease.

The spa’s new oncology menu, Road to Recovery, was introduced in April. It features the Road to Recovery Massage ($150, 50 minutes), which includes modifications of existing massage techniques to work with the complications of cancer and cancer treatment; complimentary Hair Piece Consultation, in which a stylist helps guests find a proper wig style, color, and fit; and complimentary head shaving.

“With so many new cancer cases each year, Spa Minerale is answering a need in the community,” says director of spa Amanda Vassar. “Our team at Lansdowne is so proud and humbled to have the opportunity to bring comfort and the gift of touch to people affected by cancer.”
