SPA-A La Fédération des Professionnels du Bien-ētre has awarded the 2019 “Personality of the Year” to Belgin Aksoy, founder of Global Wellness Day. The worldwide initiative has made strides in bringing mental health awareness and change to millions of people. Her work has been recognized by Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as one of 15 inspiring “Forces for Change” social responsibility projects, Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Mehmet Oz, host of "The Dr. Oz Show," as well as many other celebrities.
SPA-A rewards successful people who inspire their peers and the industry in line with four criteria; creativity and innovation, vision of the profession, human values, and influence. Aksoy was celebrated at the “Soirée Label Qualité” in Paris on Sept. 9. The association introduced Aksoy’s award with “We wish to honor a personality who moves the world and transcends borders with the slogan: ‘One day can change your whole life!’”
Askoy has previously received “Leading Woman in Wellness” awarded by Global Wellness Institute and “Most Influential Spa Leader” awarded by American Spa magazine. Additionally, she is the first non-French person to be awarded “Personality of the Year.”
