Spa & Wellness MexiCaribe announced its picks for the best the industry has to offer in Latin America for 2019. The publication, specializing in the spa and wellness industry in Latin America and the Caribbean, published its autumn edition with the list of winners of the Spa & Wellness MexiCaribe 2019 Spa Awards.
Spa & Wellness MexiCaribe rated the best spas in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America on their service standards, facilities, spa menu, treatment quality, marketing and training, wellness offering, and sustainability. The publication listed 26 “Best Spas,” five “Best Luxury Resort Spas” that offer exceptional facilities and an outstanding level of service, and four “Boutique and Day Spas” offering a remarkable wellness experience, maximizing space without extravagant amenities.
Additionally, MexiCaribe awarded the 2019 Sustainability Award to COMO Parrot Cay, COMO Shambhala Retreat (Turks & Caicos Islands).“This year, we are pleased to present the winner of the Spa & Wellness MexiCaribe 2019 Sustainability Award, sponsored by Eminence Organic Skin Care, to a resort focused on truly sustainable practices, including the reduction of plastic waste,” says Sara Jones, editor and publisher of Spa & Wellness MexiCaribe.
The wellness industry has grown exponentially in recent years. Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Latin America region currently employ more than 215,000 people within the wellness industry and is expected to increase employment to over 230,000 people by 2022, according to the most recent study of the Global Wellness Institute. The wellness industry has a global value of $4.2 trillion ranging across tourism, lifestyle services and products, and food supplements. Spas in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America make a gigantic contribution to this industry being valued at $6.6 billion.
