Green Spa Network to Kick Off Annual Conference with Sustainability Round Table

A roundtable discussion on human and environmental wellness will be held on March 11 by the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) to kickoff the Green Spa Network’s 10th Annual Congress.

Held in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains in Carmel Valley Ranch, CA, the roundtable, titled Beyond Sustainability: Defining a New Terrain for Vital Wellbeing will be moderated by Mary Bemis, the editor-in-chief for Insider’s Guide to Spas and founding editor of American Spa. The roundtable will focus on the future of global health, social responsibility, and how the environment affects wellbeing.

Since 2015, the company has held 20 roundtables like this internationally, on topics ranging like Beauty Meets Wellness, Wellness for Cancer, and Workplace Wellness.

The discussion will feature industry experts like Mary-Elizabeth Gifford, president of Stellar Organic Certification; Kevin Kelly, founder of Civana and former CEO of Canyon Ranch; Deborah Szekely, founder of Rancho la Puerta and the original Golden Door; and Bill Reed, founder of Regenesis Group. Other participants include Veronica Schreibeis Smith, chair of GWI’s Wellness Architecture Initiative and founding principal of Vera Iconica Design; Stephen Kiesling, editor-in-chief of Spirituality & Health, and Jonathan Paul de Vierville, professor, author, and cultural historian.

The Green Spa Congress, which takes place from March 11 to 14, is a conference where spa professionals can meet and grow together over topics like wellness, leadership, and sustainability. The theme of this year’s conference is “Inspire action and Create Community through Storytelling." The conference is aimed to offer attendees a way to build relationships through interactive experiences.
