The Green Spa Network (GSN) is currently accepting applications for board service. The non-profit's newly elected board of directors are seeking motivated spa, wellness, and sustainability professionals to help spearhead the group of more than 1,500 members.
"Joining the GSN Board is a unique opportunity to combine your passion and expertise," says Joanna Roche, executive director of GSN. "We are committed to driving awareness and action within our industry to adopt regenerative practices, and ultimately effect social change."
The call for applicants comes shortly after the board's recent election of new leadership positions on its Board of Directors. Bonnie Baker, cofounder of Satteva Spa and Wellness Concepts, will now serve as board president after her tenure as vice president. Thor Holmes, general manager of Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary (Freestone, CA), will work closely with Baker as the board's new vice president and board finance chair. One of the board's newest members, Molly Allene, partner of Alpine Glow Skincare, will serve as board secretary.
“Green Spa Network is dedicated to leading the spa and wellness industry in creating long term, regenerative, and life-sustaining practices,” says Baker. “With the new leadership team, GSN is evolving to meet the growing interest in sustainability and the need for information, resources, and expertise. GSN is moving towards a curriculum of events, education, and action initiatives designed to stimulate spa professionals into a deeper exploration of the relationship between people and planet.”
A full list of current board members is available in the about tab on the GSN website. Professionals interested in applying for GSN board service can submit an application through www.greenspanetwork.org. Applications will be accepted through August 31, and successful candidates will begin their first two-year term in November 2018.
