The Mandarian Oriental Turns Down the Volume for Annual Silent Night Event

The Spa at Mandarian Oriental (multiple locations) recently turned down the volume on life and turning up mindfulness at its annual Silent Night event. After 5 pm on December 5, Mandarian Spas around the globe went go silent.

Spas operated under a normal treatment menu, but the only verbal communication took place during a brief consultation at the beginning. Once the robes were put on and guests entered the space there was be no talking and no music. With this experience, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group hopes to instill a sense of peace, allowing for deep contemplation and calmness, especially during the busy holiday season.

Guests were also invited to take part in the group’s Digital Wellness initiative, designed to help establish personal boundaries with technology and create a healthy, digitally balanced life. The program provides guests with access to a range of wellness advice and activities designed to help them disconnect from technology. For full immersion, guests can participate in the Digital Wellness Escape. The 1 hour 20 minute session focuses on grounding the body and mind through the power of human touch.

Additional Silent Night events were held at specific Mandarin Oriental locations. For example, Silent Yoga took place in Bangkok, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Munich, and Marrakech. There was meditation classes in Boston, Canouan, Macau, and Hong Kong. Miami and Canouan offered massages on the beach. Singing Bowl therapies were held in Prague and Singapore.
