Spa professionals in the New York City area were treated to a day full of powerful education and networking recently at the annual Repêchage Power Lunch, held at the international skincare brand’s headquarters in Secaucus, NJ. The day-long event featured speakers and panels from a handful of industry veterans and professionals.
The day kicked off with Lydia Sarfati, founder and CEO of Repêchage, who led a presentation on How to Boost Your Retail Business, which offered strategies for professionals on how to incorporate a success retail business as part of their company culture and become a key profit driver for their spa or salon. Takeaways of the presentation included how to assemble a team educated on selling retail, the proper ways to purchase merchandise and backbar, and how to implement promotions and best practices regarding sales. After the iconic champagne toast and lunch, attendees participated in an interactive panel on personal and professional successes in the wellness industry.
Led by Kristina Rodulfo, beauty director of Women’s Helath magazine, the panel featured Fabio Carr from MassageLuxe/FaceLuxe, Tanja Catoe of Salon Inga’ brands, and Lisa Dominguez of Spa O on the Go. Each panelist spoke about their personal and professional experiences in the spa and wellness industry, including the importance of self-care for business owners and team members, transitioning from working on your own to managing a team, and more.
Following the lunch, Sarfati hosted a one-day, hands-on workshop of best practices for facial massage at the Lydia Sarfadi Post Graduate Skin Care Academy, also at Repêchage headquarters.
