Wellness for Cancer (WFC) wants your help in giving back to members of the spa community who have been affected by cancer. Earlier this summer, the nonprofit charity organization announced its Give Back to Our Own Fund, a new campaign designed to provide spa and wellness professionals living with cancer complimentary access to wellness retreats and spa treatments to aid in relaxation and recovery. Thanks to donations from industry professionals, spas, and properties willing to gift treatments and stays, WFC is now accepting applications from those in need.
Inspired by the drama-documentary 1 a Minute, a film based on the true stories of women who have overcome breast cancer, WFC is asking interested participants to submit a one-minute introduction video explaining why you, or the person you are submitting, would benefit from a Give Back to Our Own wellness retreat. Submissions will be accepted from Sept. 11 through Nov. 22. Once submitted, videos will be reviewed by the Wellness for Cancer advisory committee, which is comprised of doctors as well as spa professionals, to evaluate the videos based on the real needs of the candidate. Preliminary selected candidates will be contacted for an interview before the committee makes final decisions by Dec. 13.
To submit yourself or someone you know, email Wellness for Cancer founder and executive director Julie Bach at [email protected] with the subject line “Candidate Video Submission.” In the email, be sure to include the participant’s name, phone number, email, and your one-minute video submission explaining how the candidate will benefit from the giveaway. All participants must be 18 years of older to be considered.
