Turnberry Isle Miami to Debut as JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa

Turnberry Isle Miami, home to Âme Spa and Wellness Collective, has announced an upcoming rebrand to JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, slated for winter 2019. The reimagined hotel will feature a new 16-story Orchid Tower, comprised of 325 spacious guest rooms, doubling the resort’s current occupancy to 685 rooms. Âme Spa and Wellness Collective will still remain a part of JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa.

"We are delighted to introduce JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa as the latest addition to our expanding luxury portfolio,” said Mitzi Gaskins, vice president and global brand leader for JW Marriott. “The hotel’s art deco design exemplifies the effervescence and culture of Miami, allowing each of our guests to enjoy enriching experiences from the moment that they check in. We look forward to continuing to deliver the warm, intentional service that characterizes the JW Marriott brand at our new Miami property.”

The rebrand will feature a renovated hotel entrance and lobby which will house Soff’s, a unique lobby bar named for Don Soffer, founder of Aventura. Turnberry’s pro shop will be redesigned and expanded and the resort’s two renowned 18-hole golf courses, Soffer and Miller, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., have been re-imagined by golf icon Raymond Floyd.

The resort’s interior design by Champalimaud takes inspiration from Miami’s art-deco history and will utilize materials and color palates that celebrate elegance, reflective of the JW Marriott aesthetic. Subtle ivories are present throughout the project, designed to evoke a relaxing, spa-style experience that mirrors the openness found in the surrounding South Florida environments. Hints of blue and brown accents also reference the natural surroundings of the environment.

The second phase of the rebrand will include the introduction of Tidal Cove, a world-class waterpark with a FlowRider Triple ride, kids’ splash park, lazy river, and 25 luxury cabanas as well as two distinct dining options, Surf House Bar & Grill and FreeStyle. Tidal Cove is set to debut Spring 2019.

Information about the new Orchid tower, the rebrand, and Âme Spa and Wellness Collective can be found at the new JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa website.
