Emme, the world's first curvy supermodel, is slated to speak at American Spa's Women in Wellness Leadership Conference on March 6 with a session on "The Powerful Self: Turning the Tables on Self-Doubt and Low Self-Esteem to Create a Life Filled with Personal Freedom and an Abundance of Self-Worth." She will share how to connect with the essence of who we are, teaching us to love ourselves. A tv personality, model, mom, author, brand spokesperson, cancer survivor, lecturer, and globally recognized women's advocate for positive body image and self-esteem, Emme delivers a clear message—to awaken the inner magnificence inherent in each of us, to be whole. With the conviction that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, she has paved the way and given women the platform to feel beautiful and empowered. She is the first model invited to speak before a Congressional subcommittee in Washington, D.C. with a mission to increase public awareness of eating and body image disorders.
This year, Emme hosted EmmeStyle: Remarkable People and Empowering Stories; published her fifth book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Curvy & Confident: 101 Stories of Loving Yourself and Your Body; and for the fourth year, launched Fashion Without Limits (FWL), an inclusive fashion design accreditation initiative, teaching future fashion designers to design for women size 0 to 24. Often interviewed in the media on eating disorders and body image, fashion trends, model diversity, women's health, and surviving cancer, Emme has appeared on "The Today Show," "Good Morning America," CBS's "The Early Show," CNN, and more. She has twice been selected to People's "50 Most Beautiful People" and Ladies' Home Journal chose her as one of the "Most Important Women in America" and one of the "Most Fascinating Women of the Year." She has also been honored as one of Glamour's "Women of the Year" and as one of Biography's "25 Most Influential Women."
