The iconic La Valencia Hotel (La Jolla, CA) is debuting the new Spa La V in spring 2018, a 3,500 square feet wellness sanctuary located in a classic California-style bungalow. At the helm of the new property will be 14-year industry veteran Dana Stallings, who has been named the team’s first spa director.
“Spa La V is an idea whose time has come,” says Mark Dibella, marketing director at La Valencia Hotel. “We wanted something more than just a pampering amenity at our landmark hotel, and that is why we called on Dana to lead this new wellness offering at La V. Today’s travelers—and the local membership that is sure to build—expect a spa experience that is founded on a solid wellness philosophy and that also celebrates what’s special about its location. With an industry veteran at the helm who is dedicated to the guest experience; an amazing site as a location and such a health-oriented community surrounding it, Spa La V is sure to be a success,” he says.
Stallings joins the team at Spa La V after just recently being appointed as one of 85 international ambassadors of Global Wellness Day. She is also the founder of IConnection, a southern California spa association that spearheads local education, community action, and special events. Previously, she served as spa director at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa as well as a senior spa consultant at Creative Spa Concepts, where she helped open the award-winning Sahra Spa at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.
A walkway towards the sea on the north side of the hotel will connect the property to the ocean-view spa, which features indoor and outdoor spaces complete with gardens and balconies as treatment spaces, located adjacent to the hotel’s ocean-facing fresh water pool and salt water spa. The space will also feature a meditative tranquility lounge and a sun-covered deck, local and organic skincare products, and more.
