Industry veteran Patrick Huey, formerly group director of spa – Asia for MSPA International, has accepted a new position as corporate spa director at luxury hospitality group Montage International.
In his new role, Huey will oversee the spa divisions for both Montage and Pendry hotels and resorts. Based out of Montage’s corporate headquarters in Irvine, CA, he will be responsible for Montage’s spas in Deer Valley, UT; Laguna Beach, CA; Beverly Hills, CA; Palmetto Bluff, SC; Kapalua Bay, HI; and San Diego, CA.
“We are excited to welcome Patrick to the Montage International family, as he will lead all spa and wellness efforts across the company,” said Jason Herthel, president and chief operating officer of Montage International. “His passion and expertise in the health and wellness industries will play a key role in enhancing the Spa Montage and Spa Pendry experience for all our guests.”
Prior to his most recent position, Huey began his career as spa manager at Equinox in Hollywood, CA, before being named spa director at Four Seasons. Since then, he has also worked as corporate director of spa operations for the Viceroy Hotel Group as well as corporate director of spa for Sandals resorts before taking on his position at Minor Hotel Group last year. As group spa director – Asia with Minor, Huey oversaw spas within the Anantara, Avani, and Tivoli hotel brands.
Spa Montage locations include a number of spa, beauty, and wellness offerings influenced by the hotel’s unique location. The brand’s Spa Montage Elements of Wellness Retreats, which Huey will also oversee, were designed to integrate spa and wellness with science and data to create progressive fitness programs; empowering mind and body activities; and nutritional options to rebalance the body, sooth the mind, and restore vitality.
